About me

I'm Alex, a sound engineer and educator specializing in audio post-production, voiceover and dialogue, audio restoration and editing, multitrack mixing and mastering, and music supervision. I am also a university lecturer, teaching the Audio Production module that I designed and currently lead. My work spans TV, film, and radio, as well as web advertising, podcasts, audiobooks, and corporate visual media.

I'm an Avid-Certified Pro Tools Operator and proficient in several DAWs. I trained on SSL 4040 G+ and Neve VR Legend consoles at the renowned Windmill Lane Recording Studios, and hold a First-Class Honours BA in Audio and Music Technology from Griffith College Dublin and an MA in Music Business from New York University.

Otuside of the studio, I've worked as a sound technician for large-scale live productions, supporting stage builds, PA systems, backline, and other concert setups. Artists I've helped prepare the stage for include U2, Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, Kylie Minogue, Mumford & Sons, Spice Girls, and Twenty One Pilots.

My academic and research interests include digital audio, streaming economics and DSP payout models, music catalog acquisitions and IP monetization, sync licensing trends, and metadata and rights administration.

In my spare time, I'm a music technologist, songwriter, music collector, and lifelong learner. I'm a huge soccer fan and love pizza, the seaside, and bicycles.
